Welcome to Colon & Rectal Surgery Center specializing in the practice of Medical & Surgical problems of Colon, Rectum, and Anus, since 1987. Our offices are conveniently located in the Capital Health Plaza and in the Medical Office Building of Oaklawn and Bronson Hospital. We are committed to our patients and to deliver excellent personalized medical care. We have designed this page to answer your questions before you make an appointment.

Office Hours / Appointments:

Our office is open Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Appointments are required; however, emergencies will be worked in. We make every effort to stay on schedule, but emergencies may arise which cause a delay. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you. If you are unable to keep your appointment, or are going to be late, please call in prior to the scheduled visit.

Emergency Problems:

The doctors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency care. For emergencies during 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., call the office at 441-1771. After 5:00 P.M., weekends, holidays call 441-1771 and leave a message for the doctor to call back. If there is no answer, go to the nearest emergency room.

Medical Advice & Perscription Refills:

Patients are requested to call during office hours regarding medical advice and care. The doctors’ assistants are trained to give instructions regarding common problems. If they are unable to assist you, the message will be given to the doctor, who will return the call. All prescriptions should be requested during office hours. Please leave your name, your phone number, name of pharmacy and pharmacy phone number.

Fees, Billing, & Insurance

Payments are expected at the time of service, unless prior arrangements are made. We participate in Blue Cross, Medicare, and Medicaid programs. We will file insurance claims for you at no charge. You are responsible for the deductible and co-payment.

Staff Information

Information about Staff Members of CRSC

Our staff is skilled in assisting our patients and family members with medical and billing concerns. They have extensive knowledge of colon and rectal problems and are able to assist patients with medical questions.

Vivian is a LPN and has been with CRSC since 1993. She is team leader of Medical Personnel. She schedules surgical procedures. She has attended operator training for Steris Systems One, and received a certificate of Steris Sterilization.

Karen is a RN and joined CRSC in 2002. She has multiple experiences in nursing. She works as phone triage, scheduling nurse, and assists the physicians.

Denise joined CRSC in 1994. She is the team leader for the reception area. She has an Associates Degree in General Studies. She has completed classes at Kellogg Community College for medical biller.

Noy joined CRSC in 2005. She is a computer and billing specialist; team leader for billing. She has experience in both hospital and surgical centers.

Karla joined CRSC in 2004 and her expertise is in pre-authorizations of insurances for surgical and office visits. She specializes in billing rejections of which she has eight years of experience.

Marge joined the transcription staff in March 2002. She has a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. Her Bachelor’s Degree is in Elementary Education and Art. Marge has also been an EMT.
